My forthcoming science fiction novella Two Thirds of a God will be available March 25, 2025. The art was done by the great British artist Mike Church.

Here’s the story:

Eleanor Burton is head of R&D for the nearly complete OrbitNet space-based internet system when she receives a fatal diagnosis. With two months to live, she becomes the guinea pig for a friend’s brain scanning experiment, and the next thing she knows, she is a virtual human, a program running on the primary OrbitNet satellite. Did her situation arise from a chain of coincidences or someone’s master plan? And can she stop a plot to control the entire planet?

“The novel succeeds both as a character study of a digital being and as a techno-thriller. A post-human entity proves to be the most relatable character in this engaging cyberthriller.”

Book Recommendations

If you are looking for a book to read now, here are some I’ve enjoyed.

I missed this when it first came out, but I thoroughly enjoyed it once I found it. The most fun I’d had in a long time. This novel is the beginning of his Blue Ant trilogy, and still one of my favorites among Gibson’s many great books. After his brain has been on a shelf for 150 years, they hot-swap it into a body, demanding he solve the murder of a man who is still alive. Great SF noir. You may have heard of The Expanse TV series. This is the first novel in the series it is based on. The best space opera I’ve ever read.
