LASFS is the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society, the oldest existing science fiction club in the world. It is in its 84th year. I visited it on the occasion of the grand opening of its new clubhouse in Northridge, in the San Fernando Valley. It was great to chat with some serious science fiction fans. The club’s library of paperbacks is even more extensive than you can see in the picture. If you are in the area, definitely check it out. They have meetings every Thursday evening at 8 PM.
